Young Adult Program Worker
( - Siem Reap)

Job Description:
Anjali House is an international and Cambodian registered NGO
supporting approximately 80 street children in Siem Reap through
education,
healthcare and the arts. Anjali is a safe haven where kids find
support, friendship and shelter from the hardships of everyday life in
Cambodia. We aim
to create an environment in which kids can be kids, playing,
learning, discovering their strengths, and having fun. In addition,
through our education
programs, we aim to equip Anjali kids with skills to take into the
workforce and the opportunity to create a brighter future for
themselves.

In March 2010, Anjali House established a Young Adult Program to
support older students, (15 – 18 years) in their transition from school
to working life.
A preparation curriculum has been developed; including English
language skills, career orientation, computer lessons and life skills.
The second phase
will include an integration program, providing these young adults
monitored accommodation outside Anjali House, designed to
prepare them for living
independently, further education, work experience and becoming
responsible and self-sufficient adults.

We are looking for a Cambodian national to assist the Head of the
Young Adult Program by performing teaching duties, continuing the
development of
the preparation curriculum and the start-up of the integration
program.
The duties to be carried out for the position

• Teach lessons in the preparation phase of the Young Adult
Program;

• Search, select and adapt teaching materials for the
preparation and integration phase;

• Monitor and teach young adults in the Young Adult House
during the integration phase;

• Monitor other young adults’ home situation while they’re in the
preparation phase;

• Create a local network of businesses, NGO’s and other
organizations for trainings, workshops, business
visits and employment opportunities;

• Assist in fundraising efforts for the Young Adult Program;

• Assist in counseling sessions for the Young Adults

• Assist in the general administration of the program.
job Requirement:
>> The essential requirements for the position

• Bachelor degree in Education, Business, Social Studies or
other relevant disciplines;

• Minimum 1 year of experience working with young adults in
the age range 15 – 18 years;

• Teaching skills and experience with respect to sensitive
subjects;

• Excellent communication skills in both Khmer and English
language;

• Ability to work in an international environment with volunteers;

• Ability and confidence to work independently when needed;

• Honest, reliable and flexible;

>> Preferred requirements

• Counseling skills with youths from a disadvantaged
background;

Location: Siem Reap

Starting salary: $ 125 (3 month probation period)
