Job Description:
Jasmine is renowned for creating classic and timeless pieces with unique hand woven silk. Jasmine has two boutiques in Cambodia and exports to Australia, Poland and the USA.
An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an energetic and talented Design Sampler working in our Phnom Penh work shop. Reporting to the Designers, this role provides the opportunity to work in a varied and exciting role and be part of a strong, committedteam.
PRODUCTION PLANNING AND CONTROL:
- Work with designers to create sample models for two collections a year
- Work with pattern maker to execute patterns for the samples
- Grade patterns and create specification sheets and costs for the new samples
- Set up and maintain a library of patterns, fabric and materials, techniques, etc
- Develop new techniques and improve technical understanding of the product – design samples, fabric
- Source materials – Source new and standard materials to ensure consistent cost efficiency
- Work with GM and production manager to put samples into production for each season’s collection
- Planning – prepare weekly and monthly production plans for sampling team.
- Prepare weekly sewing plans for in-house production staff
- Prepare purchase orders to accounts for fabric and materials to accounts
- Assisting with styling and art direction for season’s collection photo shoots and fashion show
COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT:
- Costing - create base costings for seasonal collection pieces
- Present seasonal collections to designers, GM, production manager and export manager (details on construction, fabric and materials, finishing, costings, suppliers, etc.) To be successful you will have demonstrated experience working in pattern making and will have an impressive portfolio to show. You will also have a high level of verbal and written skills in English. As well as your excellent communication skills you will also have a high level of attention to detail and the willingness to help and assist others as and when required.
