Purpose:Scholarships are awarded to college undergraduate students for travel abroad programs focusing on business. Students must demonstrate financial need in addition to John’s traits of leadership, character, intellectual, strength, and a sincere passion to gain an international perspective. Preference is given to students studying on programs over three weeks in length.

Institution:Students must be attending an accredited 4 year college or university in the United States but may study abroad in any country.

The John T. Petters Foundation honors the short and remarkable life of John Petters. While a junior at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, he tragically lost his life while on spring break in Florence, Italy, in March 2004. John’s dream of helping deserving students study abroad is realized through the Foundation.
